The Mera Peak and Island Peak Climbing via Amphu Laptsa Pass trek is an epic adventure in Nepal’s Khumbu region, starting in Kathmandu, where you can explore famous heritage sites like Durbar Square and Swayambhunath before flying to Lukla. In the main season (from 16th March to 25th September), flights usually operate from Ramechhap to Lukla and back due to heavy traffic at Kathmandu’s airport, while outside these dates, flights run directly from Kathmandu to Lukla and back. This arrangement helps manage the busy air traffic during peak trekking months.
This trek combines climbing two of Nepal’s highest trekking peaks—Mera Peak (6,476 m), Nepal’s highest trekking peak with moderate technical difficulty, and Island Peak (6,189 m), which requires steeper snow climbs and ridge walks. The region is rich in history, inhabited by Sherpas who have supported mountaineering since the 1950s. Island Peak was first climbed by a British team in 1953, the same year as Everest’s first ascent, while Mera Peak also gained popularity as a trekking peak around the same time.
A highlight of the trek is the challenging Amphu Laptsa Pass at 5,845 meters, a steep and icy high-altitude crossing requiring technical climbing skills and equipment like crampons and ice axes. This less-traveled route connects the Khumbu and Hinku valleys, adding a true sense of adventure.
The trail moves through diverse landscapes-from rhododendron forests and Sherpa villages with teahouse stays to alpine meadows and glaciers where camping is necessary. The trail conditions are tough, with steep ascents, snow, ice, and unpredictable weather, demanding good fitness and mountaineering experience.
This trek is ideal for experienced adventurers, supported by professional guides and porters who ensure safety and comfort throughout the journey.
Besides the physical and technical challenges, trekkers benefit from stunning panoramic views of Himalayan giants like Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu, rich Sherpa culture, and diverse biodiversity, including rare wildlife. The trek also promotes sustainable tourism, helping preserve the environment and support local communities.
We also provide several similar trekking and climbing trips in the region, such as the Everest Base Camp Trek with Island Peak Climbing, the Three High Passes Trek, Lobuche Peak Climbing, Ama Dablam Climbing, Gokyo Lakes Trek with Cho La Pass, and Baruntse Peak Climbing. These options offer a range of challenges and cultural experiences, allowing adventurers to explore the Himalayas beyond Mera and Island Peaks.

Welcome to Nepal! Today upon arrival at TIA, Kathmandu (1,400m), our representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, we’ll have a briefing about the Mera Peak Climbing expedition. You’ll have time to explore Thamel, arrange any last-minute gear (buy or rent), and access money exchange or ATMs nearby. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner with our team. If your Lukla flight is from Ramechhap Airport, be prepared for an early morning 6-hour drive-we’ll inform you in advance and manage all logistics smoothly.
Today, after breakfast, pack your essentials for a day of sightseeing and travel. A city guide and transport will be ready at the mentioned time to take you to Swayambhunath Temple and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. If you have extra baggage, ask your hotel-they offer free storage. After sightseeing, enjoy a 6 hour drive to Manthali (474m / 1,555ft). Upon arrival, settle into your tented camp or local lodge and talk with your guide about the next day’s plans.
To begin your Mera Peak Climbing adventure, after a preparation day in Ramechhap, you’ll take a scenic 20-minute flight from Ramechhap to Lukla, famous for its thrilling mountainside runway. Flights depend heavily on weather, so if conditions are poor and your flight is canceled, you may wait and try again the next day or choose a charter helicopter or Sherpa helicopter option, costing around $500 per person.
Upon landing at Lukla (2,860m / 9,383 ft), you’ll meet your expert guide and crew and start trekking toward Chhutang. The trek is about 8–9 km (5–6 hours) with moderate trail conditions-first descending to the Dudh Koshi River, then ascending through forests, villages, and suspension bridges. Along the way, you’ll find basic yet comfortable teahouses offering meals like dal bhat, noodles, and soups.
Chhutang is situated at 2,800 meters (9,184 feet), making it a perfect place to rest and acclimatize. Stay hydrated, listen to your body, and take your time to enjoy the breathtaking scenery and rich culture of the Everest region as you begin your Mera Peak journey.
Today’s trek covers about 8 km (6 -7 hours) on a moderately difficult trail with steep ups and some downs. The route passes through beautiful alpine forests and meadows, with snowy patches at higher altitudes. The trail can be slippery, so go slow and follow your guide’s safety tips.
Your destination, Tuli Kharka, is a small settlement known for its warm and welcoming teahouses, where trekkers often share stories around a cozy fire after a long day. These basic lodges provide simple meals and a chance to rest and acclimatize before higher climbs.
Remember to stay hydrated, watch for altitude symptoms, and enjoy the stunning Himalayan views along the way. If you’re on the longer trek, challenging passes like the Amphu Lapcha Pass (5,845m) await in the coming days.
Today, after resting in Tuli Kharka (4,100m), you’ll trek to Kothe (4,182m / 13,716 ft), covering about 9-10 km in 5-6 hours. The trail offers a mix of ups and downs through dense rhododendron forests, green meadows, and along the Dudh Koshi River, with stunning views of Mera Peak. You’ll stop for lunch at a teahouse along the way to rest and refuel.
Kothe is a small village with basic teahouses where you can rest and enjoy meals. As you gain altitude, it’s important to maintain a steady pace, stay hydrated, and monitor your body for altitude symptoms. Weather can change rapidly, so be prepared with warm, layered, and waterproof clothing.
Along the way, immerse yourself in the rich Sherpa culture and spectacular mountain scenery. Always respect local customs and follow Leave No Trace principles to protect this beautiful region.
Today, after breakfast in Kothe, begin your trek to Thaknak (4,358m/14,298ft). The trail gradually ascends through the Hinku Valley, offering breathtaking views of Mera Peak and surrounding mountains. Trek alongside the Hinku River, passing alpine meadows and glacial moraines.
Stop for lunch at a teahouse in Gondishung, a small herder’s settlement. After lunch, visit the ancient Lungsumgba Gompa to receive blessings for your journey.
After about 5-6 hours and 8 kilometers (5 miles), arrive in Thaknak. Settle into a teahouse, enjoy a warm meal, and rest for the night as you prepare for higher altitudes.
Today, after breakfast in Thaknak, begin your trek to Khare (5,045m/16,486ft). The trail ascends steadily, passing through glacial moraines and alpine meadows, with stunning views of peaks like Kusum Kanguru and Peak 43.
Stop for lunch at a teahouse in Dig Kharka (4,650m/15,256ft) to rest and refuel. After lunch, continue alongside the Hinku Nup and Shar Glaciers. The trail steepens as you near Khare, offering breathtaking views of Mera Peak.
After about 5-6 hours and 10 kilometers (6.2 miles), arrive in Khare. Settle into a teahouse to relax, acclimatize, and prepare for your Mera Peak ascent. Enjoy a hearty meal and rest for the night.
Today, spend the day in Khare for important acclimatization. After breakfast, take a short trek to Mera La (5,415m/17,766ft), about 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) round trip, which takes around 4-5 hours. This slow hike offers spectacular views and helps your body adjust to the high altitude, reducing the risk of altitude sickness.
In the afternoon, return to Khare for pre-climb training. Your guide will teach you how to use climbing gear like crampons, harnesses, ascenders, and ropes, and practice essential techniques for a safe ascent.
Acclimatization and going slowly are crucial for your safety, helping prevent altitude sickness and ensuring you’re prepared for the climb.
After training, relax and enjoy dinner at the teahouse. Rest well for the challenging days ahead.
Today, after an early breakfast in Khare, begin your trek to Mera High Camp (5,780m/18,963ft) via Mera La. The trail starts with a steep and challenging ascent to Mera La (5,415m/17,766ft), covering about 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) and taking 6-7 hours. Enjoy stunning views of Everest, Makalu, and other peaks along the way.
Go slowly and take your time-safety and proper acclimatization are top priorities to reduce the risk of altitude sickness. The trail includes rocky and icy sections with glacial terrain, so careful navigation is essential. Stop for lunch halfway to rest and refuel.
From Mera La, continue trekking to Mera High Camp, covering a total distance of about 10 kilometers (6.2 miles). Upon arrival, settle into the tented camp, where all arrangements and gear are provided for your comfort.
Today, the trek starts early from Mera High Camp (5,800m / 19,029 ft) to attempt the summit of Mera Peak (6,476m / 21,247 ft). Before setting off, it’s essential to listen carefully to your guide’s instructions and safety guidelines. Always follow their advice closely for a safe climb. Carry all necessary gear, including crampons, ice axe, warm clothing, and enough water.
The route to the summit includes steep icy slopes requiring careful footing, with a mix of uphill, flat, and some downhill sections on the descent. After summiting, you’ll descend to Kongma Dingma (4,850m / 15,912 ft), where you’ll rest for the night in tents.
Altitude acclimatization is crucial-take your time, pace yourself, and use energy bars or snacks to maintain strength. The climb involves around 7-8 hours of walking, so be prepared for a strenuous day in challenging conditions. Your support crew will look after your base camp while you focus on the climb ahead.
Today is an extra reserve day for flexibility and safety. If you don’t feel well or need extra time to acclimatize, this day can be used for rest. It helps manage delays from weather or health issues, reduces altitude sickness risk, and ensures a successful and safe Mera Peak climb.
Today, you will leave Kongma Dingma (4,850m / 15,912 ft) and trek approximately 5-6 hours over a distance of about 8 kilometers (5 miles) toward Seto Pokhari (5,000m / 16,400 ft), also known as the White Lake. The trail ascends through rocky and uneven terrain with some challenging sections requiring careful footing.
Basic teahouse accommodation is available near Seto Pokhari for rest and acclimatization. Trail conditions include rocky paths, some flat stretches, and gentle uphill sections. This day offers a good opportunity to acclimatize while enjoying stunning mountain views. Always follow your guide’s instructions to ensure safety and a smooth trekking experience.
Today, you will trek from Kongma Dingma (4,850m / 15,912 ft) to Amphu Lapcha Base Camp (5,650m / 18,537 ft), covering around 10 km (6.2 miles) in 6 to 7 hours. The trail is steep and rocky with glacial moraines and icy sections, so good fitness and acclimatization are crucial.
Along the way, you’ll see sparse alpine plants, possibly spot Himalayan wildlife, and experience Sherpa culture with monasteries and prayer flags. Before the climb, be sure to talk with your guide about the Amphu Lapcha Pass, understand the challenges ahead, and get fully prepared. Safety is key-follow your guide’s instructions, carry mountaineering gear, and be ready for changing weather. Lunch is usually packed to carry, like energy bars and snacks, to keep you fueled on this challenging high-altitude trek.
Today, you’ll descend from Amphu Laptsa Base Camp (5,650m / 18,537 ft) to Chukung (4,730m / 15,518 ft) via the Amphu Laptsa Pass (5,845m / 19,189 ft). The 12 km (7.5 miles) trek takes about 6 / 7 hours over rocky, sometimes loose terrain with glacial moraines. Carry gear as needed, go slowly, and follow your guide’s safety advice carefully. If heavy snow blocks the pass, alternative plans include returning to Khare or waiting for safer conditions. Upon arrival in Chukung, you can rest and enjoy a shower to refresh after the long trek.
Today’s trek from Dingboche to Chhukung covers about 7 km (4.3 miles) in 4–5 hours, offering stunning views of Ama Dablam and Island Peak. Chhukung (4,730m / 15,518ft) is a key acclimatization spot where you’ll meet your climbing guide and base camp crew. From here, the trek to Island Peak Base Camp (about 3-4 km / 1.9-2.5 miles, 5,200m / 17,060ft) begins, passing glacier-shaped landscapes with breathtaking Himalayan views.
At base camp, you’ll camp in tents with food and essentials provided by your organizers. Summit attempts are usually made directly from base camp after discussing weather and plans with your guide. After the climb, return to Dingboche or Chhukung to rest.
Your experienced guide will help with all preparations, gear, and safety, ensuring a memorable and safe Island Peak adventure. Food: BLD | Accommodation: Camping | Elevation: Up to 5,200m (17,060ft)
Today: Start early from Island Peak High Camp (5,600m / 18,373ft) for the summit at 6,189m (20,305ft). The round trip takes about 8-10 hours and involves technical climbing with ropes, crampons, and ice axe. Beginning early ensures better weather, clear views, and more daylight for a safe return. Be sure to wear proper gear for cold and changing weather—layers, insulated jacket, gloves, and a good headlamp. Carry enough water, hot drinks, energy bars, and snacks for the climb. The trail is demanding, so stay hydrated and listen to your guide.
Once you reach the summit, enjoy the breathtaking views of Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Makalu, and more. Descend carefully to Island Peak Base Camp for the night.
⚠️ If the weather is poor, your guide will make the safest call—never risk the climb. You may wait a day or return to Chhukung. Your safety is the priority.
Today’s trek takes about 6–7 hours, covering 16–18 km, with uphill, downhill, and flat sections. You’ll enjoy stunning views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Everest as you descend through beautiful valleys and forests.
At Tengboche, visit the historic monastery (puja around 3:00 PM) and enjoy fresh pastries at the local bakery. If you're feeling strong, you can discuss with your guide about continuing on to Namche for a longer trek day (8–9 hours total).
We hope you're feeling proud after the Island Peak summit—Kathmandu is getting closer!
Today’s trek takes about 6-7 hours, covering approximately 15-16 km. You'll descend from Tengboche (3,867m / 12,687ft) to Namche Bazaar (3,440m / 11,286ft), stopping for lunch and a short exploration. Then continue downhill to Manju (2,840m / 9,318ft), crossing suspension bridges and passing through forests and traditional villages. The trail includes ups, downs, and flat sections, with beautiful views along the way-walk slowly and enjoy the return journey.
Today’s trek takes about 5–6 hours, covering around 11–12 km, as you walk from Manju (2,840m / 9,318ft) to Lukla (2,860m / 9,383ft). The trail includes gentle ups, downs, and flat sections, crossing several suspension bridges and passing through charming villages and forests. Enjoy your last night in the mountains with your trekking crew—share farewell drinks or meals if you wish, and tip your guide and porters in appreciation. We’ll also inform you of your flight time for tomorrow.
After your trek, you will take a flight from Lukla to Ramechhap, offering scenic views of the Himalayas. From Ramechhap, you'll drive back to Kathmandu, which takes about 5-6 hours. Upon arrival, you can freshen up, change into clean clothes, and then explore Thamel, the bustling tourist hub of Kathmandu.
Please note, flights to Lukla from Kathmandu are typically available until September 25th. After this date, flights will be diverted to Ramechhap due to congestion at Kathmandu’s airport, especially during the spring season (March 15th onward).
You’ll also receive a certificate of achievement for completing the trek. Enjoy your time in Kathmandu before your final departure!
Today is a free day to enjoy Kathmandu at your own pace. You may visit iconic sites such as Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, or Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple). Or simply rest, relax, and enjoy shopping in Thamel for souvenirs, local crafts, and delicious food.

This is Nepal’s ultimate trekking peak combo – a rare adventure that lets you summit two legendary Himalayan peaks, Mera Peak (6,476m) and Island Peak (6,189m), while crossing the remote and technical Amphu Lapcha Pass (5,845m). You'll trek from the quiet, untouched Hinku Valley into the dramatic Khumbu region – all while walking through glaciers, alpine passes, remote wilderness, and classic Sherpa villages. This trip is a dream come true for true adventurers.
The best time is during the pre-monsoon spring (April-May) and post-monsoon autumn (October-November) seasons. These months offer stable weather, better visibility, and safer snow and glacier conditions – which are essential for crossing Amphu Lapcha and climbing both peaks. Monsoon and winter are not recommended due to high risks from snowstorms and crevasses.
Yes, we take care of all required permits, which include:
Mera Peak Climbing Permit
Island Peak Climbing Permit
Makalu Barun National Park Entry Permit
Sagarmatha National Park Permit
Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entry Fee
Everything will be arranged in advance, so you can focus on the adventure.
You’ll stay in local teahouses up to Khare (near Mera Peak) and again from Chhukung onward (after Island Peak). Between those remote sections - especially around Amphu Lapcha and the high camps - we use high-quality tents with foam mattresses, warm sleeping bags, and full camping meals. Our support team sets everything up and prepares hot, hygienic meals to keep your energy high.
Expect a combination of hot, energizing Nepali and Western meals: dal bhat, soups, noodles, pancakes, tea, coffee, porridge, and even occasional treats like fried snacks and desserts. During camping sections, your personal cook will provide three fresh meals a day. We also recommend carrying your favorite energy bars or trail snacks.
Your safety is our top priority. You’ll be led by certified climbing Sherpa guides with extensive experience on both Mera and Island Peak. Our crew carries all essential safety equipment:
Ropes, ice axes, crampons, harnesses
Pulse oximeters for altitude monitoring
Satellite phone and walkie-talkies
First aid kits and emergency oxygen (on request)
We build in proper acclimatization days and are trained to handle emergencies, evacuations, and altitude-related issues.
ATMs are available only in Kathmandu and Lukla. After that, you must carry all required cash (Nepalese Rupees) for extra snacks, WiFi, or hot showers. Charging is available at some teahouses (for a fee), but power may be limited. Bring a power bank or solar charger to stay safe and connected.
Yes , very simple! Nepal offers visa on arrival for most nationalities at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu or land borders. Just bring:
A passport valid for at least 6 months
1 passport-sized photo
Visa fee in USD (typically $50 for 30 days)
Or you can apply online in advance through Nepal’s official eVisa portal.
Absolutely - if you’re fit, adventurous, and ready for a life-changing experience. We regularly guide solo travelers and beginners with strong fitness. The expedition gives you a chance to test your limits, gain real mountaineering experience, and witness remote, raw Himalayan beauty far beyond ordinary treks. You’ll be fully supported every step of the way.
The best time to climb Mera Peak and Island Peak is during the pre-monsoon (March-May) and post-monsoon (September-November) seasons. These months offer clear weather, stable conditions, and moderate temperatures, ideal for climbing.
However, mountain weather can be unpredictable, so always check with local authorities and experienced guides before starting your climb.
Communication on the trek can be challenging due to the remote areas and limited mobile network coverage. However, most of the teahouses and lodges in the Everest region have WiFi facilities available for a small fee, and you can also use local SIM cards with data packages. It is also recommended to bring a satellite phone for emergency purposes. Your trekking company will likely provide a means of communication with their base and with emergency services. It's essential to stay in touch with your guide and follow their instructions for a safe and enjoyable trekking experience.
There may be extra personal expenses on trekking to Mera Peak and Island Peak Climbing. These can include:
Wi-Fi and internet access:
Some lodges and tea houses may offer Wi-Fi for a fee, and it can be costly in remote areas.
Charging devices: Charging devices may incur a fee at some tea houses, especially at higher elevations where solar power is scarce.
Hot showers: Hot showers are available at some tea houses for a fee, but the cost can vary widely.
Snacks and drinks: Trekking can be strenuous, and you may want to purchase snacks and drinks along the way. Prices for these items can be higher in remote areas.
Personal gear: You may need to purchase or rent personal gear such as climbing boots, crampons, ice axes, and harnesses. These can be rented in Kathmandu or purchased in local markets.
Tips: It is customary to tip your guide and porters at the end of the trek. The amount can vary, but it is usually around 10% of the total trekking cost.
Personal expenses in Kathmandu: If you plan to spend extra time in Kathmandu before or after the trek, you may incur additional expenses such as accommodation, meals, and sightseeing.
At Sole Encounters Trekking, we are committed to promoting and practicing eco-friendly tourism concepts. We believe in responsible travel that minimizes negative environmental impacts, supports local communities, and preserves the natural beauty of the destinations we visit.
Here are some key aspects of our eco-friendly tourism concept:
Environmental Conservation: We are dedicated to preserving the pristine natural environments of the trekking regions in Nepal. We adhere to the principles of Leave No Trace, ensuring that we leave the trail and campsites in their original condition, free of waste or damage. We strictly follow waste management practices, including proper disposal of trash and carrying out non-biodegradable waste.
Sustainable Accommodation: We prioritize using eco-friendly lodges and teahouses during the trek. These accommodations employ sustainable practices such as solar energy usage, composting, and water conservation measures. By supporting such establishments, we contribute to the local economy and promote environmentally friendly infrastructure development.
Local Community Engagement: We actively engage with local communities, ensuring that our activities bring positive impacts to their livelihoods. We hire local guides and porters who possess deep knowledge of the region, respecting their expertise and providing them with fair wages and working conditions. We also promote cultural exchanges between trekkers and local communities, allowing visitors to learn about the local traditions, customs, and ways of life.
Minimizing Carbon Footprint: We encourage our clients to offset their carbon emissions by participating in voluntary carbon offset programs. We provide information and assistance on carbon offset initiatives, allowing trekkers to contribute to environmental conservation efforts.
Supporting Local Economy: We prioritize sourcing local products and services, including food, supplies, and equipment. By supporting local businesses, we contribute to the economic development of the communities we visit, helping to create sustainable livelihoods and reduce dependency on external resources.
Environmental Education: We promote environmental awareness and education among our clients, guides, and staff. We provide information on the importance of conservation, responsible trekking practices, and the local flora and fauna. By fostering a deeper understanding of the environment, we hope to inspire a sense of responsibility and respect towards nature.
At Sole Encounters Trekking, we believe that by embracing eco-friendly tourism practices, we can preserve the beauty of the natural landscapes, support local communities, and create meaningful and sustainable travel experiences for our clients.
Money exchange facilities are limited in the Everest region, so it's best to exchange your money in Kathmandu before starting your trek. In Kathmandu, there are many money exchange counters and banks that offer currency exchange services. It's recommended to exchange your currency into Nepalese Rupees (NPR), which is the local currency, before starting your trek.
Once you start your trek, you can exchange your money at the teahouses or lodges where you stay. However, the exchange rate may not be as favorable as in Kathmandu, and the availability of money exchange services may be limited in some remote areas.
It's also important to note that credit cards are not widely accepted in the Everest region, so it's recommended to carry enough cash with you for your expenses during the trek.
Tipping is not mandatory in Nepal, but it is a common practice in the tourism industry. Tipping your guide, porter, and other support staff is a way to show your appreciation for their hard work and dedication during your trek. It is recommended to tip around 10% of the total cost of the trip to the guide and around 5% to the porter, depending on their performance and your satisfaction. However, the amount of the tip is entirely at your discretion and should be based on your own judgment. It is always best to prepare some extra cash in Nepalese rupees for tipping before you start your trek.
Sole Encounters Trekking is committed to being a motivational and duty-full travel partner to all our clients. We believe in responsible tourism and aim to provide our clients with an authentic and fulfilling travel expersience while ensuring the preservation of the natural environment, local cultures, and communities.
Our team of experienced and knowledgeable guides and porters are passionate about the mountains and are dedicated to ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of our clients throughout their journey. At Sole Encounters Trekking, we aim to inspire and motivate our clients to challenge themselves, achieve their goals, and create lifelong memories. We take pride in being a travel partner that not only meets but exceeds our clients' expectations.

Mera Peak offers breathtaking views of Everest, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga but requires basic mountaineering skills like using crampons and ice axes. It’s best to have prior high-altitude trekking experience and hire an experienced guide. The trek includes rhododendron forests and passes like Amphu Lapcha. Tea house standards vary, and temperatures can be extremely cold, so proper gear is essential. The road to Ramechap is tough, but flights to Lukla are possible. Overall, Mera Peak is a challenging yet rewarding adventure for those ready for the climb.

My passion for mountaineering led me to pursue my dream of conquering the Himalayas, starting with Mera Peak and Island Peak via Amphu Laptcha Pass. This challenging expedition in the autumn of 2023 taught me valuable lessons on adapting to harsh climates and essential mountaineering skills.Having reached the summits of Mera and Island Peak, I now set my sights on Mount Everest. With careful planning and the right support, I’ve chosen to partner with Sole Encounters once again to guide me through this incredible journey. I’m excited to continue my adventure and make my dream of standing atop Everest a reality.

Our Mera Peak Climbing in October 2023 was a brilliant and successful experience. Our climbing guide, Nigama Sherpa, and his team were fantastic, providing great support and understanding. The trip was well-organized and offered both a fantastic climbing and trekking experience, showcasing the beautiful Himalayan landscape and glaciers.
The helpful Sherpas and great company made the journey even more enjoyable. We highly recommend this experience, and we plan to return for another adventure in the future. The High Camp was well-set and took good care of us, and although summiting from High Camp was challenging, our guide provided awesome support. Thanks for a memorable experience
